New Ford Ranger Raptor Driving Experience

The moment you sit in the bespoke seats of the new Ford Ranger Raptor, it’s clear this is no ordinary pickup. A range of advanced technologies and smart systems deliver a driving experience like no other. And at the press of a button you can engage the powerful new Terrain Management System. There are six different modes, each one optimising the vehicle’s fearsome capabilities for a specific terrain: Normal mode, Sport mode, Grass, Gravel and Snow mode, Mud and Sand mode, and Rock mode. For a ferocious off-road experience, select the unique Baja mode.

Tailor-made performance

When driving off-road, every terrain requires a different approach. To help you make the most of the pickup truck's capabilities, a Terrain Management System enables you to fundamentally adjust the vehicle’s acceleration, traction control, steering sensitivity, gear change behaviour and more. Choose from six different modes to maximise performance in all conditions: Normal mode, Sport mode, Grass, Gravel and Snow mode, Mud and Sand mode, Rock mode, and for unbeatable off-road performance, Baja mode.

Race-bred suspension

The new Ford Ranger Raptor comes with the legendary FOX Racing Suspension as standard. This performance-tuned suspension has been crafted to soak up punishing impacts, and smooth out bumps and ruts with ease.

Tackle any terrain

To help you drive with confidence in all conditions and environments, the new Ford Ranger Raptor enables you to switch ‘on the fly’ between 4x2, 4x4 high and 4x4 low. So when you’re cruising comfortably on dry roads, you can keep the vehicle in a more fuel efficient 4x2. But as soon as you want to go off-road or the road conditions deteriorate, you can effortlessly switch into 4WD for more grip and greater control.

Set your own speed limit and the new Ford Ranger Raptor stays within it. Integrated with the cruise control function, the Speed Limiter lets you set your chosen maximum speed. The vehicle then stays within that speed, so you can keep your eyes on the road. When you need to go faster or slower, just press the accelerator or brake to override the system. Featuring powerful Xenon headlights that can detect changes in light conditions. This triggers the automatic headlights to turn themselves on, making driving both easier and safer. Intelligent Speed Assist is designed to aid your speed control, enabling you to concentrate on the road. First, a front-facing camera automatically detects the current speed limit. If activated, the system adjusts your maximum speed setting to that limit (Speed limit may vary according to road and vehicle size. Driver is responsible for adhering to the speed limit at all times.).Whether the signs are at the side of the road or above it, permanent or temporary, Traffic Sign Recognition can identify them. Icons for speed limits and no-overtaking signs are displayed on the instrument cluster, alerting you to changing restrictions.

An advanced system to help you stay in your lane. The Lane Keeping System uses a forward-looking camera to detect if you’re unintentionally drifting out of lane. Lane Keeping Aid provides gentle steering torque assistance to help guide you back into your lane. If your wheel touches the line or edge of the road, Lane Keeping Alert vibrates the steering wheel and displays a visual warning. The technology automatically deactivates at speeds below 43 mph (64 kph), or can be turned off manually.

Extra control during hill starts - Hill Start Assist temporarily stops you rolling backwards or forwards when making a hill start. The system works by maintaining pressure to the braking system for an extra 2-3 seconds, giving you more time and control as you move your foot from brake pedal to accelerator. It’s also useful when you’re stopping and starting on slippery surfaces.

Extra control going downhill - Hill Descent Control is designed to regulate your downhill speed in off-road conditions without you even having to touch the brake or the accelerator pedals and it operates in both forward and reverse gears.

Ford SYNC Emergency Assistance

In the event of an accident, where the airbag is deployed or the fuel-pump deactivated, Ford SYNC with Emergency Assistance can use a Bluetooth-paired and connected mobile phone to help you make a direct call to the Emergency Services. You can choose to stop the call, or talk to those services if you need to. The system is designed to supply vital information, such as your GPS coordinates, even if you are unable to.

Easier reversing - Bollards, bicycles, low walls… The rear-view camera shows what’s behind you on a screen built into the centre console. As well as revealing objects you might miss, the system displays virtual lines to help you park into the smallest of spaces. The camera activates automatically when you select reverse gear. Sensors that take the stress out of parking. Parking distance sensors at the rear help you judge the distance between your vehicle and obstacles around you. When the sensors detect an object, they activate an audible warning that intensifies the closer you get to it.

Helping you see, without dazzling others - A useful night-driving aid, auto high beam temporarily dips your headlights when it detects oncoming traffic or a vehicle ahead, stopping you dazzling other drivers. It then automatically reverts back to high beam, giving you maximum visibility.
