There are a few steps to take on the way to getting your Motability car.
There’s no need to worry, though, as the process is straightforward, and there’ll be help available at every point of your application.
First and foremost, it’s an important first step to ensure you are eligible for Motability before making an application.
There are several types of allowances that will see you qualify for the Motability Scheme, and it’s important that the one you’re receiving has at least 12 months left on it.
Your allowance is what will pay for your Motability car, with the payments typically being around £70-80 per week.

Once you’ve confirmed that you’re eligible for Motability, it’s time to set up an online account.
Not only is this a great way to get the ball rolling on a new Motability application, but your online account allows you to store all your information relevant to Motability in one secure place.
You’ll also be able to track existing applications, access information about your chosen dealership, and also add or change named drivers for your car once you have it.

The final step is possibly the most exciting, as it’s when you can finally start looking at cars and talk about making an order.
Once you know what kind of car you’re after, you can make an appointment to speak with a Motability Specialist.
During your appointment, you and your Specialist can discuss all matters pertaining to your preferred car and application.
You or who will be your named driver(s) will be able to take a test drive, making sure the car will be exactly what you want.
Once all has been decided, your Motability Specialist will make the order for you, and then keep you up to date from that point till delivery.
