Jeep’s pioneering engineering has now brought us the Jeep e-Hybrid, along with the Jeep hybrid plug-ins (4XE models) and also its first all-electric vehicle proving its commitment to the future.
The new Jeep e-Hybrid range incorporates cutting-edge EV technology that improves the driving experience and keeps an eye on the battery's health, power supply and charge. It can offer full electric driving, with the electric engine handling manoeuvres at low speeds.
The new Jeep Hybrid powertrain combines a conventional petrol-powered motor with the power of an electric engine. Jeep e-Hybrid technology is based on a new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 130bhp through a front-wheel drive system and is assisted by a second electric motor that can increase output by up to 20bhp at different times when driving.
The Jeep e-Hybrid system, in contrast to other mild hybrid cars, can truly give a fully electric driving experience, with the electric engine handling the low speed or in coasting mode. This indicates that a typical Jeep hybrid vehicle uses less petrol and lower emissions.
The Jeep PHEV Range
In the 4XE Dual Soul plug-in hybrid models, Jeep's pioneering spirit has been revived and reimagined. The electric and petrol engines combine to create a hybrid vehicle that offers efficient fuel consumption and enables a drive of up to 26 miles on battery power alone.
The Jeep plug-in hybrid range includes the Renegade, Compass and Grand Cherokee and increases performance while using less fuel and emitting fewer pollutants thanks to the combination of electric propulsion and 4x4 traction.
E-Save maintains battery charge by enhancing the efficiency of autonomous charging systems. You can also select the driving mode that works best for you.
Battery charging is easy too - either plug in at home using a domestic outlet or public charging station, let the car do it on the move via regenerative braking, or, for a faster charge, use an Easy Wall box and be charged in just two hours.
