On 29th June 2018, the Business Development Centre hosted a ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’ to raise money for Marie Curie – a charity which supports people and families living with a terminal illness.
The department has donated money in order to dress in non-uniform and have brought in yummy home-baked treats and shop bought goods to sell for charity. They also hired a slush machine for the day – perfect for the Mediterranean weather we’ve been experiencing lately!
A game of ‘Hook a Duck’ was set up throughout the day, and if the advisors hit certain targets they were given the chance to reel in their duck and claim a prize.
Our MD, Shaun Foweather, had been practising his Paul Hollywood handshake as he took on the challenge of judging the ‘Bake Off.’
1st place was awarded to Scott Nicklin and Ella Fitzpatrick with their chocolate cake (the one with the kinder hippos on it)
And runner up was Carmen Hobbs with her chocolate chip cookies and fudge!
Shaun really liked the chocolate cake and it was the fact that it had been decorated with chocolate fingers on the side that really swayed his decision to crown it the winning bake! He said, “It was hard to choose but chocolate cake is one of my favourites.”
