Kia Concept EV3

Kia EV3 Concept

The Kia Concept EV3 embodies Kia’s vision for a compact electric CUV that seamlessly combines practicality and driving pleasure. It offers the technology, practicality, and design of Kia’s flagship SUV, the EV9, in a compact and accessible package. This blending of seemingly contradictory elements is at the core of Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy, drawing inspiration from the ‘Joy for Reason’ aspect.

“Joy and reason may seem opposing, one emotional and the other logical, but when combined, they create a powerful and impactful design,” explained Karim Habib, Executive Vice President, and Head of Kia Global Design Center.

In the Concept EV3, the ‘Joy for Reason’ influence is evident in the contrasting qualities of a robust body and dynamic silhouette. The squared wheel arches with asymmetrical angles create an unexpected logic and a strong impression. This is contrasted by the wrap-around windscreen and disconnected C pillar, resulting in a floating roof effect.

Inside, the Concept EV3 seamlessly combines practicality and cabin design, thanks to the ‘Joy for Reason’ principle. This merging of opposing values leads to a joyful travel experience while offering ample space for an active lifestyle at the destination.

The cabin promotes emotional well-being with soft mood lighting, a clean dashboard design with refined character lines, and a sense of boundless possibilities. Ergonomic seats and eco-friendly materials, in line with sustainability goals, are complemented by versatile rotating tables supporting four modes: Focus, Social, Refreshing, and Storage. The rear seat can be effortlessly folded to accommodate bulky items like electric scooters and bicycles.

Kia Concept EV4

Kia EV4 Concept

The Concept EV4 embodies the essence of the ‘Power to Progress’ principle within the ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy. ‘Power to Progress’ revolves around the skills, expertise, and creativity cultivated during Kia’s recent design-led transformation. This approach fuels the development of groundbreaking products that redefine entire industry segments, setting new standards for individual vehicle design. The Kia Concept EV4 is a prime example of this innovation.

Despite its four-door configuration, the vehicle defies categorisation as a mere sedan. Instead, its bold and dynamic lines represent a revolutionary form of EV saloon, symbolising innovation in the automotive world.

Influenced by the ‘Power to Progress’ concept, the Concept EV4 seamlessly blends confident, geometric diagonal character lines with sophisticated yet technical surfaces, offering a fresh perspective, customer experience, and typology. Features like the sleek low front, elongated dynamic silhouette, and technical roof spoiler, reminiscent of sports and racing cars, underscore the EV4’s status as a pioneering EV saloon.

An assertive front design complements the Concept EV4’s futuristic, technological profile. With a wide, commanding stance and vertical headlamps at the far edges of the hood and front bumper, the model embodies Kia’s commitment to pushing boundaries and driving the EV Revolution forward.

Inside the Concept EV4

Inside, the vehicle boasts a sleek, spacious horizontal layout with stylish design elements designed to enhance the driver’s experience while maintaining an unobstructed view.

To achieve this, Kia’s designers have integrated an air conditioning control panel that can be neatly stowed in the centre console when not in use, along with pin-style air vents that provide flexibility in changing patterns and other refinements to the interior design.

The cabin’s cocoon-like atmosphere encourages drivers to interact with the vehicle in a new and unobtrusive manner. Presented through twin digital screens, a streamlined instrument panel offers subtle driver orientation, reducing distractions and preparing for upcoming tasks.

The Concept EV4 introduces a novel ‘Mind Modes’ feature, adjusting ambient lighting and animated ventilation patterns. In ‘Perform’ mode, drivers receive all the information they need to perform at their best and maximise their day. In contrast, the ‘Serenity’ mode offers a range of digital graphics to create a more relaxed atmosphere for reflection and rejuvenation.
