It’s been a festive day here at Head Office all in aid of Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day. We gave all of our staff here at head office the opportunity to take part and wear a Christmas jumper in exchange for at least a £2 donation.
We’ve seen some great jumpers on display from classic Fair Isle knits to quirky character jumper and Christmas elf hoodies and it’s fair to say everyone had great fun getting involved.
It’s not just Head Office, our staff at branch have also been getting involved. We’ve had some great photos sent into our social media team from across our dealership network. Why not check and see if your local branch got involved?
How the Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day Started?
It all began back in 2012 when Save the Children saw the growing trend for Christmas jumpers. They recognised that it could be a great opportunity to raise funds for the charity. Since 2012, the Christmas Jumper appeal has raised over £17 million.
This money has been used around the world to help improve the lives of the most vulnerable children. Save the Children’s mission is constant and the work is varied. Money raised helps children in various ways including providing warm clothes for children living in refugee camps to keep them warm through winter or setting up a safe space that will give a little one a chance to be a child again.
This year has seen more people registered to take part than ever before, with around five million people believed to be taking part. As a result, Save the Children are hoping to smash last year’s fundraising by raising over £4.5 million.
Have you picked up your new car from one of our dealerships that got involved? We’d love to see your pictures from the day so get tagging us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and don’t forget to #ChristmasJumperDay
