The brand-new MG3 Hybrid+ supermini has been launched by MG Motor UK, with pricing announced today and confirmation that orders for the MG3 are now being accepted.
Both the SE and Trophy models of the MG3 Hybrid+ demonstrate MG’s strong dedication to providing drivers with excellent value. Advanced hybrid technology is offered at a price comparable to or lower than many petrol superminis currently on the market in the UK.
The MG Hybrid+ SE starts at just £18,495 OTR, while the more generously equipped Trophy model is available from £20,495 OTR. MG also provides a 7-year/80,000-mile warranty.
Similar to the award-winning MG4 EV hatchback, the MG3 Hybrid+ is poised to impress with its extensive array of standard equipment, prioritising safety, comfort, and entertainment.
Both models of the MG3 Hybrid+ boast dual-screen technology, 16” alloy wheels, satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, MG Pilot, and a reversing camera. The MG Pilot Safety suite comprises Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Front Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Emergency Lane Keep Assist (LKAS), and Adaptive Cruise Control.
The Trophy variant of the MG3 Hybrid+ offers even more comfort, style, and convenience, including a 360° camera, heated front seats and steering wheel, keyless entry, privacy glass, rain-sensing wipers, and LED projector headlights.
At the core of the new MG3 lies its highly efficient Hybrid+ powertrain, poised to inject some enjoyable MG performance and energy into the supermini segment.
With a larger-than-average battery (1.83kWh) and a high-performance electric motor (100kW), the MG3 can operate fully electrically for city driving, distinguishing it from many other hybrid superminis. For longer trips, there’s the assurance of a 1.5-litre petrol engine.
The advanced, intelligent features of Hybrid+ include a drive and charge system that allows the petrol engine to propel the wheels while simultaneously charging the battery through the generator.
The MG3 Hybrid+ delivers impressive fuel efficiency figures of 64.2mpg (4.4l/100km) and emits just 100g/km of CO2*.
Drivers have the flexibility to adjust the MG3’s responsiveness to suit their preferences with a choice of three driving modes: Eco, Standard, and Sport. With a combined power output of a class-leading 143kW, the MG3 achieves a lively 0-62mph time of 8.0 seconds. Its mid-range acceleration is equally impressive, covering 50-70mph in just 5.0 seconds.
Furthermore, the MG3 Hybrid+’s chassis and suspension have been finely tuned for UK roads, mirroring the agile handling of the MG4, by the company’s engineering team based in Longbridge.
There is still a very strong demand for the affordable, practical and fun-to-drive supermini and we believe the MG3 Hybrid+ will appeal to many customers. Like all MG models, it will challenge the established superminis with its competitive price, whilst also delivering outstanding value with no compromises when it comes to equipment. We’re confident that if you simply wish to drive this MG for something other than daily commuting, it will offer a fun and involving experience.
